@Bill: thanks so much for the titles – these are indeed somewhat hard to hear when Dr. Krashen mentions them in an interview. On a side note, couldn’t agree more with you on the use of drama in teaching.

The two books Stephen mentions but a bit hard to hear are: Donalyn Miller, The Book Whisperer: Awakening the Inner Reader in Every Child (2009)
Nancie Atwell, The Reading Zone: How to Help Kids Become Skilled, Passionate, Habitual, Critical Readers (2007)

Almost all graded reading for ER is fiction/non-fiction Very few dramas aside from Shakespeare. This should be changed, we need extensive comprehensible input through drama, and should not have to depend on commercial publishers for this.
